GORILLA - CHIMP SAFARI

BWINDI IMPENETRABLE & QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Day 1

Depart Kampala Backpackers or your hotel of choice at 8am to Queen Elizabeth National Park where we will spend a night at the ecological institute in Mweya. On the way we can stop over on the Equator for a few photos and then proceed to Mbarara for lunch. We expect to be in the park by 5pm. Dinner and overnight Mweya Eco Institute.

Day 2

An early morning excursion to Kyambura gorges to track chimpanzees, which live in the gorge where we will also see the hippos swimming in the cool river of Kyambura and more game. After the trekking session at head off for lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge after which you will leave for a boat cruise at 2:30 pm to see the game on the banks of the lake. Bird watchers its great experience because birds are all over the banks. Dinner will be at Mweya safari lodge overnight ecological Institute.

Day 3

Early morning game drive which starts at 6:30am to view the game in the park like elephants, hippos, bushbacks, water bucks, kobs , lions and many more. After the game drive we will have a quick breakfast in order to head off and be in time with the afternoon game drive at Isasha after which you will head off to Bwindi Impenetrable national park Buhoma community Rest camp for dinner and overnight

Day 4

Early breakfast, at 8am report to at the park offices for briefing about gorilla trekking and at 8.30am leave for gorilla trekking it usually takes 4-8 hours of hiking in the mountains in search for gorillas, its really a great and unique experience to see the lovely primates feeding and spending a full hour with the tourists. Coming back in the evening for refreshment & dinner at Buhoma Homestead

Day 5

Early morning break fast so that by 9am we leave for Kampala arrive Kampala by 6pm.

Day 1

Day 5

Early morning break fast so that by 9am we leave for Lake Bunyonyi in kabale lunch will be in kabale town after which we will leave for bunyonyi Overland camp for accommodation dinner and overnight.

Day 6

After break fast leave for a canoe trekking for the whole day and natures walks at the different Islands on the lake.

Day 7

Drive back to Kampala having lunch in Mbarara

FOUR DAYS NKURINGO OR MAGAHINGA NP GORILLA TREKKING

Day 1
Depart backpackers at 9am to Lake Mburo NP, arrive in time for lunch. After lunch leave for a canoe trip on Lake Mburo or a game drive in the park. Dinner and over night Lake Mburo Restaurant.

Day 2
Early morning game drive then leave for Kabale where you will have lunch and then continue to Mgahinga or golden Monkeys Hotel kisoro. Make brief stops at places of interest including Kanaba Gap to view the dramatic Virunga volcanoes and beautiful terraced hills. O/N: Overnight Golden Monkeys hotel kisoro.

Day 3
Gorilla tracking in Mgahinga/Nkuringo (subject to permit availability at the time of booking). .

Day 4
Early start for Kampala stopping for lunch at Mbarara. Arrive late afternoon.

THREE DAY GORILLA SAFARI

Day 1

Depart Backpackers or your hotel at 9am, lunch at Mbarara, and stay in the Bohoma Rest Camp near the gates of the Bwindi National Park.

Day 2

Early breakfast, at 8am report to at the park offices for briefing about gorilla trekking and at 8.30am leave for gorilla trekking it usually takes 4-8 hours of hiking in the mountains in search for gorillas. It is really a fantastic experience to see the gorillas feeding and spending a full hour with the tourists. Their size is and just how gentle they are is a sight that one can never forget as they play, eat or just sit and watch you with a look of wonderment in their eyes.

Day 3

Drive back to Kampala (eleven hours)
