QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK THREE DAYS Day 1 Depart Backpackers or a hotel of your choice at 8am to drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a short stopover at the equator to take a few photos. Lunch will be in Mbarara after which you will head to Mweya ecological Institute. Dinner will be at Mweya Safari Lodge and over night Mweya Ecological Institute. Day 2 Early morning game drive starting at 6:30am to view the game in the park like elephants, hippos, bushbucks, water bucks, Uganda kobs, lions and many birds twittering in the trees and grassland. Lunch will be at Mweya Safari Lodge after which you will head off for an afternoon boat cruise on the lakes Edward and George to view the many species of birds and more wildlife. Day 3 An early morning safari to Kyambura Gorge to track the elusive chimpanzees, one of man's closest relations. The chimp population is quite mobile and viewing is unpredictable but the walk is enchanting as you walk through the riverine forest deep in the gorge. Then drive to Lake Mburo National Park we we will stay in one of the bandas or you may choose to camp by the lake. Day 4 Go for a early morning walking safari in the wilds of Lake Mburo where you will see zebras, impala, warthog and many species of birds. After a late breakfast dive back to Kampala |

QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK & ISHASHA RIVER (FIVE DAYS) Day 1 Depart Backpackers or a hotel of your choice at 8am drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a short stop over will be at the equator to take a few photos while viewing the different craft shops. Lunch will be in Mbarara after which you will head to Mweya Ecological Institute inside Queen Elisabeth National Park. Dinner will be at Mweya Safari Lodge and sleep at Mweya Ecological Institute or you may upgrade to sleep in the Mweya Safari Lodge. Day 2 Early morning game drive which starts at 6:30am to view the game in the park like elephants, hippos, bushbucks, water bucks, Uganda kobs, lions with many birds twittering in the trees and grassland. Breakfast will be after the game drive at the Ecological Institute. Lunch will be at Mweya Safari Lodge after which you will head off for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga which runs between Lake Edward and Lake George. Day 3 Drive to Ishasha River camp in the Ishasha section of Queen Elisabeth National Park (4 hours of rough road) you can either camp in one of the park campsite on the edge of the Ishasha River where you can experience the wildlife at close quarters as the hippos splash and play in the river a few metres away. Or you can stay in the upmarket Ishasha Wilderness Camp which also has fantastic animal viewing across a river. Day 4 Get up early for a game drive around the park then about 10.30 move to the southern section of the park where their is a good chance of seeing the tree climbing lions up in one of the many wild peach trees. As soon as possible after seeing the lions head off to Bunyarugulu where we stay in a small hotel. Day 5 Option of a primate walk in Kalinzu Forest a few kilometres from the hotel then drive back to Kampala. |
