Visa
A visa is a clearance permitting you to proceed to visit another country. If you are not a Ugandan citizen, you will require a Uganda visa as a pre-requisite before entering the country. The most easier way of getting a visa to Uganda is by purchasing it at the entry point, Entebbe Airport or any border station. This is very possible for tourists. All you need to do is pay USD 50, fill in the application form with passport dates and information. The visa fee of USD 50 usually runs for 90 days or 3 months.
You can also get a visa by applying online if you a citizen of the following countries, USA, UK, South Africa, Russia, Japan, Italy, India, Germany, France, Denmark, China, Canada, and Belgium. All you need to do is downloading the application from the embassy website of your country of origin. You will need to attach 2 passport photos.
All tourists travelling to Uganda are kindly requested to comply with the following requirements before they can get a visa to Uganda. Every traveler must have a valid passport of nationality or origin issued by their Government.
It is safe to have the International Inoculation Certificate against yellow fever. You might be asked to show your return ticket but usually its not asked. No amount is currently specified by the immigration but having a Credit Card and a return ticket are good evidence to convince the immigration officer that you have enough money with you. On top of all, you need a valid passport one that is expiring at least 6 months from the date you enter Uganda.
You will therefore need to present a visitor’s pass for your next destination outside Uganda to avoid messing up your trip. You may actually have to buy a return ticket to your country before being allowed entry into Uganda. Therefore, if you plan to leave the country overland, then organize your trip with an airline where a refund can be given for the unused ticket and at such dates and in search countries where you will be able to access the refund.
You have to travel with the International Health Certificate because you may sometimes be requested to present this document to show that have received a yellow fever vaccine shot.
